Children with special abilities are catered for by a differentiated curriculum which includes ability grouping within the syndicate for maths and some other selected subjets, the teaching of thinking skills, and identification of learning styles. The module programme provides for design and choice of specific learning opportunities to meet the needs of students with similar abilities and needs.
Students with special abilities are identified using information from a range of sources including previous school, teacher observation, parental input and the use of an identification scale. A broad range of special abilities are provided for.
